WEST COUNTRY TOURISM CONFERENCE

The 2017 West Country Tourism Conference was held at Westpoint, Exeter on 8 and 9 February 2017, alongside the Source Trade Show. The 2018 Conference will be on 7 & 8 February 2018.

There was an exciting programme with different themes for each of the two days as follows:

8th Feb focused on tourism ideas, news and excellence in customer service, with speakers including:

  • Geoff Ramm - outstanding speaker on 'Celebrity Service' who has previously been the headline act at 2 tourism conferences in Cornwall. 
  • Kurt Janson of the Tourism Alliance - Tourism post Brexit, Rural Tourism and other topical news
  • 'How important is customer service to your staff and what you can do about it?' - Terry Falcão from Stephens Scown solicitors
  • 'Out of the Ashes… a story of investing in the next generation' - Dave Jackson, YMCA Somerset Coast & Beach Hotel, Minehead

9th Feb was 'Marketing and Digital day' including:

The conference commenced each day with Registration and welcome drinks from 9.30am, with presentations from 10am. It closed at approximately 1.30pm followed by sandwich lunch & networking. You can see the programme HERE
